Our longtime colleague and friend Mark Mitchell passed away on June 28, 2025. Mark was our Director of Field Operations at Rossi Vucinovich for the past decade, and he personified the mission of our law firm—to protect the rights of the injured. No one has better demonstrated a willingness to give and help those in times of great stress and need than Mark Mitchell. We honor Mark and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Mark Anthony Mitchell – In Memoriam

Mark Mitchell

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends, Mark Anthony Mitchell ascended to heaven, thankfully relieved of the pain from his courageous battle with cancer.

Mark was born on August 20, 1962, to parents George Mitchell and Betty Mae Canet in San Luis Obispo, California. He joined the Army at the age of 17, and after basic training, Mark was assigned to Heilbronn, Germany. He later transferred to Ft Lewis, Washington, where he became a squad leader. He received an honorable discharge after nearly four years.

After a short stint with the BNSF Railroad as a conductor, Mark joined the Yaeger law firm in 1995 as a field representative and investigator, working in the greater Northwest. In 2004, he joined the Rossi Vucinovich law firm to lead its field representatives throughout the Greater West. Mark was a natural and well-liked leader who proudly served to assist the clients and union brothers and sisters in the rail industry. Mark’s passion and genuineness were infectious to all who came to know him. He was dedicated to serving others, as evidenced by his work and deeds, which reflected his empathy and commitment to helping others in times of need.

To his wife, Renee, his children, and extended family, Mark was admired for his kindness, love, sense of humor, and unending willingness to give his time and service to complete whatever projects needed attention. Mark could light up the room, as they say, and to his family, he was their rock, mentor, and spiritual warrior who always brought the best out in everyone.

Mark lived his life to the fullest. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, and play golf. But perhaps his greatest passion was to entertain where he could roil the crowd with stories and jokes and make everyone feel welcome and happy.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, George, his mother, Betty Mae, and his sister Bess. He is survived by his wife, Renee, son, Mark Jr., daughter, Natasha, stepchildren Scooter, Jay, and Jaime, brothers, Tim and Troy, sister, Jan (Trent), and multiple grandchildren, one great grandchild, multiple nieces and nephews, and his beloved doggies, Nova and Rip.
